How to use Plaquenil. Hydroxychloroquine is usually taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. The dosage and length of treatment are based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Plaquenil is usually taken once or twice a day. Always take Plaquenil with food. Your symptoms may begin to improve within one or two months of starting Plaquenil; however, some people do not show signs of improving until they have been taking Plaquenil for six months. Side effects Most people do not experience side effects from taking. For lupus erythematosus, one or two tablets are usually taken once or twice daily. For rheumatoid arthritis, one to three tablets are usually taken once a day. Hydroxychloroquine can be taken with a glass of milk or a meal to decrease nausea. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully.

I have plenty of other questions but this one is most pressing for now....... Post Edited (mama4two) : 3/20/2007 PM (GMT-6) Hey mama4two.. I have started taking a multivitamin with extra calcium but it is not working like the 3 glasses of milk a day. I need an alternative to the calcium or I am going to have to keep drinking the milk and be gassy forever..... Or maybe take Lactaid pills when you drink milk, will help with the gas and bloating too..
