Suddenly I'm experiencing eye problems (blilnd spots). I have stopped taking plaquenil, but now I'm being told by doctors that the damage is not necessarily reversible especially if you have taken it for a long time.

The normal dose of Plaquenil is 1 tablet a day 200mg/day. Some doctors recommend 2 a day 400mg/day but we find that 1 a day suits most people - the dose can always be increased for a flare. You should be on the valtrex cause shingles can cause lasting pain for many yrs. in some cases. Hope you feel better. Once I had some blisters that I thought were shingles. They never crossed the mid line, but it was eczema.

I had an ultrasound of my foot this week that confirmed collapsed arches I think from tendinitis from the PsA, if I understand what the dr was telling me. The dr gave me little aircasts to wear in my shoes that provide arch and heel support, I think mostly for comfort - and they do help! Im on Plaquenil and Methotrexate, I started Plaquenil first and had no side effects, however Im gettin awful ones with MTX, but the joint stiffness in my hands has lessened, so I feel its working. My Rheumatologist said taking nothing wont do me any good long term, so I feel I owe it to myself to try I think.
